Is Vortex free to use?

Yes. Vortex is completely free to use. There are no ads, no premium tiers, and no tracking. It will always remain free.

Is Vortex safe? Will it install unwanted software?

Vortex is 100% clean. No bundled software, no adware, and no toolbar installations.

What operating systems does Vortex support?

Currently, Vortex is available for Windows x64 (Windows 10 and later). macOS and Linux builds are on the roadmap for future releases.

How do I add a torrent?

You can add torrents by opening .torrent files, pasting magnet links, or using the integrated search engine. Simply drag and drop a .torrent file into the Vortex window, or click the Add button and paste a magnet URI.

My download speed is slow. What can I do?

Ensure your router's port forwarding is configured correctly, or enable UPnP in Vortex settings. Check that your ISP isn't throttling BitTorrent traffic. You can also try enabling protocol encryption in the Advanced settings.

Can I access Vortex remotely?

Yes. Enable the Web UI in the settings to access your torrent client from any browser on any device. You can add, remove, pause, and monitor torrents remotely.

How do I report a bug?

Contact our team or visit our support channels to report bugs with a detailed description of the problem, steps to reproduce, and your system information.

Is BitTorrent legal?

BitTorrent is a legitimate peer-to-peer file sharing protocol. The legality of downloading depends on the content being shared. Vortex is a tool — please use it responsibly and in compliance with your local laws.
